By the late nineteenth century, Brazil was the world's leading coffee exporter. Coffee was sent by road to Santos, which became the country's most important port for coffee exports. The coffee industry stimulated the growth of all agricultural and industrial sectors. Today, coffee remains one of Brazil’s principal products.
